Part of a series of 5 Super Weird Happenings as summer shifts to autumn (the others taking place in Manchester, Bristol, Liverpool and London), this is an 8 hour event unlike any other, which takes in talk, live art, visuals, photography, a Blind Arcade performance, and a 3 hour Greg Wilson DJ finale.
The In Conversation part of the evening with special guest, STEVE MASON, plus Greg and Kermit will be held in The Poetry Club at SWG3 from 7pm. Entry to this part of the evening will be free, but ticket holders will have preferred entry.
Unfortunately Howard Marks will no longer be able to take part in the talks. This is due to personal reasons and unavoidable. We wish him our best and hope he'll contribute to future Super Weird Happenings.
Steve Mason will be playing in the Poetry Club from 9pm after the conversation part of the evening too.
Tickets are £12 in advance, £15 on the door
Plus residents Andrew Pirie & Simon Cordiner
After playing at our Birthday last year, and blowing us all away with such an amazing set, we HAD to get Francois K back to Melting Pot in our intimate space at The Admiral - now newly refurbished.
Up until last year we'd put him on a couple of times previously in bigger venues, and always hankered after having him play in our intimate Melting Pot venue where he could play what he liked for however long wanted, all on our world beating soundsystem - he didn't disappoint and was one of the best nights we'd ever had.
We'll be pushing the boat out again and adding high-end hi-fi components to the system to ensure that Francois sounds better at Melting Pot than anywhere else - as you would expect!
It's a cliché to state that it's a rare treat to see someone of his stature in such a small venue, but it's true! This will be a night not to be missed, and one that we are very, VERY much looking forward to (again)!
We also welcome along new Glasgow label, The Nuclear Family, to host the upstairs bar. Featuring two of Glasgow's best house and techno DJs and producers to complete this stellar line up!
